This section holds the descriptive past papers of the CSS written examination, subject by subject and year by year. Every CSS subject paper splits into a short objective part and a long descriptive part. This section covers the descriptive side: the questions a candidate answers in full, written English under exam pressure. FPSC sets a fresh paper each year, and the set question always leaves a pattern behind. A candidate who works through old papers learns that pattern first-hand. Read a paper to see what FPSC asks. Then attempt the same paper under the clock to test speed and control. After the attempt, open the subject’s syllabus page on this site and study its frequency analysis. The analysis shows which topics return across the years and where the marks sit. Paper plus analysis beats either one alone. The cluster holds six compulsory subjects so far: English Precis and Composition, General Science and Ability and Pakistan Affairs, with 17 papers each from 2009 to 2025, Islamic Studies, with 14 papers from 2011 to 2025, English Essay, with 20 papers from 2007 to 2026, and Current Affairs, with 17 papers from 2009 to 2025. The cluster now holds one optional subject: International Relations, with 19 papers from 2016 to 2025 across Paper I and Paper II. More subjects join the cluster one by one as we prepare their papers. Each new subject follows the same layout, so candidates always know where to find a year, a paper, and a download.
How this section is organised
A subject page lists every year we hold for that subject. Each year has its own page. A year page breaks that year’s paper down question by question, names the passage themes, and carries the download button for the full paper. Start at the subject page, pick a year, and work down. The pillar page sits above the subject pages and ties the whole cluster together for a new visitor.
