English Precis and Composition Past Paper 2016

A holiday story opens the English Precis and Composition past paper 2016. The precis passage follows a traveller who rejects common flights to Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia and jumps at a friend’s plan to visit Cherokee county in Oklahoma. Narrative precis passages appear rarely in this set, and this year gives candidates one. The comprehension passage turns to New Year resolutions and the lists of do’s and don’ts that return each January. This year also changes the paper’s tail. An Urdu translation question appears for the first time in this set, as Q.7, and its passage weighs law against individual freedom. Word analogies debut at Q.5, and Q.4 asks candidates to pick the right punctuation marks for sentences.
